The national capital faced severe air pollution on Diwali, with over 24 monitoring stations recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) above 400.

Delhi residents woke up to hazardous air conditions on Diwali as the national capital struggled with severe pollution. The toxic atmosphere became a pressing concern for citizens across the city during the festival.

According to the latest reports, the air quality deteriorated significantly, with more than 24 monitoring stations recording an Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 400. This level of pollution is classified as hazardous, posing serious health risks to the population.

The surge in pollutants has turned the usually festive morning into a time of respiratory distress for many. The widespread nature of the high AQI readings indicates that the pollution is not isolated to specific zones but affects a large portion of the capital.

Health experts generally advise avoiding outdoor activities during such spikes in air pollution. The situation highlights the recurring challenge of managing air quality in the national capital during major festivals.
