Telangana Plans New Tech Hubs Beyond Hyderabad’s Hitec City

Hyderabad’s Hitec City has long been the flagship IT hub of Telangana. Recent statements from state officials indicate that the government is now looking to replicate that model in other districts, aiming to spread economic benefits more evenly across the region. The initiative is presented as part of a broader strategy to attract investment, generate employment and reduce pressure on Hyderabad’s infrastructure.

Policy makers say the proposed hubs will focus on sectors such as software development, fintech, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. By leveraging existing educational institutions and improving connectivity, the state hopes to create self‑sustaining ecosystems that can nurture startups and larger enterprises alike.

While specific locations have not been finalized, preliminary surveys point to districts with good road and rail links, as well as availability of land. The government plans to release detailed proposals later in the year, followed by public‑private partnerships to fund and operate the new parks.
