China has expanded its naval fleet to over 400 ships and submarines, outnumbering the US Navy. This rapid growth is a major concern for American military planners.
China has significantly expanded its naval capabilities, with its fleet now comprising over 400 ships and submarines. This substantial increase has placed the People's Liberation Army Navy ahead of the United States Navy in terms of total vessel count, marking a significant shift in global naval balance.
The rapid pace of this expansion has become a primary concern for American military planners in Washington. Reports indicate that the US is finding it increasingly difficult to match China's shipbuilding and deployment rates, which continue to accelerate.
This growing presence is viewed as a strategic challenge for the US, particularly in the Indo-Pacific region. The disparity in fleet size underscores the intensifying geopolitical and military competition between the two global powers.
While the US Navy maintains advanced technology and global reach, the sheer volume of Chinese vessels signals a long-term strategic commitment to maritime dominance. Analysts suggest that this trend will continue to shape defense policies and alliances in the coming years.
