Tigress T-93 Spotted with Cub in Ranthambore’s Lahpur Zone, Tiger Count Rises to 63

Ranthambore Tiger Reserve‑I’s Lahpur area recently recorded a sighting of a tigress bearing the identifier T‑93 accompanied by her cub. Forest officials confirmed the observation during routine patrols, noting the mother‑cub pair as a sign of successful breeding within the reserve.
The appearance of the new cub brings the total number of tigers in RTR‑I to 63, an increase from the previous count reported earlier this year. Conservationists view the rise as evidence of the reserve’s growing habitat suitability and effective anti‑poaching measures.
Ranthambore, a flagship protected area in Rajasthan, has long been a focal point for tiger conservation in India. The latest addition to its tiger family underscores ongoing efforts to stabilize and expand the species’ numbers in the region.
Authorities will continue to monitor the pair using camera traps and field observations to ensure their safety and to gather data on cub survival rates, which are critical for long‑term population health.
