Thousands Rally in Manipur's Ukhrul, Kamjong Demand Assam Rifles Withdrawal

Tensions remained high in the northern districts of Manipur as thousands of people took to the streets in Ukhrul and Kamjong. The large-scale rally was organized to voice strong opposition to the continued presence of security forces in the area.

The primary demand of the protesters was the immediate withdrawal of Assam Rifles personnel from these districts. The gathering reflected the deep-seated frustration among the local population regarding the ongoing security situation and the impact of military deployment on daily life.

While the exact number of participants was not officially confirmed, witnesses described the crowds as substantial, indicating significant public mobilization in the region. The event underscores the persistent challenges in restoring normalcy in parts of Manipur.

Local authorities are monitoring the situation closely to prevent any escalation of violence. The rally highlights the complex social and political dynamics that continue to define the crisis in the state.
