The upgraded bus terminus in Ranipet, Tamil Nadu, was inaugurated for commuters following restoration work that began in 2022.
The newly refurbished bus terminus in Ranipet, a town in Tamil Nadu, was formally opened for public use on Monday, marking the completion of a multi‑year upgrade project. Officials welcomed passengers as the facility began handling regular bus services, aiming to improve connectivity for the town’s residents and surrounding villages.
The renovation, which was launched in 2022, involved structural repairs, modern waiting shelters, upgraded ticket counters and better lighting and security measures. Contractors also widened the platform area to accommodate a higher volume of buses and introduced digital information boards to display arrival and departure times.
Local transport authorities expect the revamped terminus to ease congestion, reduce travel time and boost the town’s economic activity by facilitating smoother movement of people and goods. Commuters expressed optimism that the improved amenities will enhance daily travel experiences.
