Maharashtra's cabinet has approved a new 18.4-kilometer Metro Line 12A connecting Manpada-Katai Naka and Taloja. The project will feature 12 elevated stations and integrated flyovers, aiming to improve public transport and reduce environmental impact.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will oversee the construction of Metro Line 12A, a project estimated to cost Rs 13,856.37 crore. The elevated corridor will span 18.4 kilometers, connecting Manpada-Katai Naka in Thane district to Taloja in Navi Mumbai. The project includes 12 elevated stations strategically positioned along the route to serve residents and commuters effectively. Integrated flyovers will also be incorporated to ensure seamless traffic flow and reduce congestion in the region.
