Dhanteras will be observed on Friday, November 6, 2026. This year, the festival coincides with a special conjunction of Friday and the Hasta Nakshatra, considered highly auspicious for purchases.
The festival of Dhanteras, widely celebrated as the day of wealth, health, and prosperity, is scheduled to be observed on Friday, November 6, 2026. This day holds significant importance in the Hindu calendar as it marks the beginning of the Diwali celebrations.
According to astrological observations, this year's Dhanteras is marked by a unique celestial alignment. The day falls on a Friday, which is traditionally associated with Lord Shukra (Venus), the deity of wealth and luxury. Additionally, the moon will be in the Hasta Nakshatra, a lunar mansion known for its auspicious qualities regarding new beginnings and acquisitions.
This specific conjunction of Friday and the Hasta Nakshatra is considered particularly favorable for major financial transactions. Many devotees and buyers are advised to check the specific Shubh Muhurat (auspicious time) before making significant purchases, such as gold, silver, or household items, to maximize the positive effects of this alignment.
As the festival approaches, markets across India are expected to see a surge in activity, with people planning their shopping to coincide with these astrologically significant timings.
