The Municipal Corporation of Delhi has ramped up its street‑cleaning operations, deploying additional manual sweepers while it waits for the delivery of new mechanised sweepers.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has announced a renewed push to keep the capital’s streets cleaner amid growing public health concerns.
The initiative involves deploying more manual sweepers and increasing cleaning frequency in key areas, especially in congested neighborhoods.
MCD officials are also awaiting the arrival of a fleet of mechanised sweepers, expected to improve efficiency and reduce labor costs.
The new sweepers are slated for delivery by the end of the month, after which the city plans to phase out older equipment and expand coverage.
