West Bengal's new industrial policy offers women entrepreneurs 100% EPF coverage for a decade and up to 120% investment support in MSMEs, with funds disbursed within 90 days.

The West Bengal government has unveiled a new industrial policy that introduces significant financial incentives specifically for women entrepreneurs in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. The policy aims to boost women's participation in the industrial economy by offering enhanced social security benefits and substantial capital support.

Under the new framework, women entrepreneurs will receive 100% Employee Provident Fund (EPF) coverage for a period of ten years. This measure is designed to provide long-term financial stability and retirement security for women working in or owning MSMEs in the state.

In addition to social security benefits, the policy provides up to 120% investment support for eligible projects. This high level of subsidy is intended to lower the cost of entry for new businesses and encourage expansion within the MSME sector.

To ensure ease of doing business, the administration has committed to a streamlined disbursement process. Funds approved under this policy are to be released within 90 days of application approval, addressing previous concerns regarding bureaucratic delays.
