Uttarakhand to Face Heavy Rain and Snowfall, Orange Alert Issued in Five Districts

The Uttarakhand State Meteorological Department released an orange alert today, signalling a high risk of heavy rainfall and potential snowfall in the state over the coming days. The alert covers five districts: Pauri Garhwal, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, and Champawat. Meteorologists predict that the region will experience intense showers, with temperatures dropping to near freezing in higher elevations, increasing the likelihood of snow in the hilly areas. Residents and travelers are advised to check local weather updates, avoid unnecessary travel, and prepare for possible road blockages due to ice and landslides.
