Ujjain Temple: Baba Mahakal Receives Royal Abhishek During 4 a.m. Bhasma Arati

At 4 a.m. on Saturday, devotees witnessed Baba Mahakal being anointed with panchamrit and adorned in regal attire during the bhasma arati at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain.
At the break of dawn on Saturday, the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain saw a rare ceremonial event. Devotees gathered early to witness the bhasma arati, a ritual involving the sprinkling of sacred ash.
During the arati, Baba Mahakal was anointed with panchamrit, a mixture of milk, honey, ghee, curd, and water, signifying purification and divine blessing.
Following the abhishek, the deity was adorned in a regal ensemble, complete with ornate jewelry and a majestic veil, symbolizing the deity’s royal stature.
The ceremony was marked by chants of “Jai Shri Mahakal” echoing through the temple premises, drawing the attention of thousands of pilgrims present for the early morning rites.
