The Supreme Court ruled that the ongoing Tirupati laddu case will remain under Andhra Pradesh jurisdiction, rejecting any immediate transfer.

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to move the Tirupati laddu case out of Andhra Pradesh, stating that the matter will continue to be dealt with by the state’s courts. The bench emphasized that there is no present justification for transferring the proceedings to another jurisdiction.

The case concerns the famous laddu offered as prasadam at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple, which has recently come under legal scrutiny over issues of procurement and distribution. While petitions have sought a broader investigation, the court’s decision keeps the matter within the state’s legal framework for now.

Legal experts note that the ruling maintains the status quo, allowing Andhra Pradesh authorities to continue their inquiries without external interference. The decision may also affect pending petitions that demanded a shift of the case to a central forum.

Stakeholders, including temple officials and local devotees, have welcomed the verdict, viewing it as a reinforcement of state-level oversight over a cherished religious offering.

The Supreme Court’s order is expected to shape the next phases of the investigation, with further hearings scheduled in the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
