Schools, colleges shut in Chennai, Tiruvallur due to heavy rains

All schools and colleges in Chennai and Tiruvallur districts have been closed for today, November 2, following the onset of heavy rainfall in the region. The decision was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff amidst the adverse weather conditions.

The announcement, widely shared on social media, confirms that no academic activities will be conducted in these two districts for the day. This measure is a standard precautionary step taken by local authorities during periods of intense monsoon activity or cyclonic disturbances.

Residents and students in the affected areas have been advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel until the weather improves. The closure applies to all levels of education, from primary schools to higher education institutions within the specified districts.
