The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the names of 11 candidates for elevation to the High Courts of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the names of 11 candidates for appointment as High Court judges in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. This decision marks a significant step in the judicial appointment process for these two states.

The recommendation covers both the Chhattisgarh High Court and the Madhya Pradesh High Court, addressing the need for judicial strength in these jurisdictions. The Collegium, consisting of senior Supreme Court judges, exercises this power under the constitutional framework for judicial appointments.

The approved names will now be sent to the Union Law and Justice Ministry for the next stage of the appointment process. Once the final approval is granted, the candidates will be sworn in as High Court judges.

This move is expected to help in the timely disposal of pending cases in the respective High Courts, thereby strengthening the judicial infrastructure in Central India.
