The National Highways Authority of India has announced a ₹11,492‑cr project to build a 390‑km six‑lane greenfield expressway linking Jaipur, Jodhpur and Pichhpara.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has unveiled plans to construct a 390‑kilometre six‑lane greenfield expressway that will connect Jaipur to Pichhpara via Jodhpur. The proposed route will cut travel time between the two major cities to just four hours, boosting connectivity across the state.
The expressway will start in Jaipur, pass through Jodhpur and continue northwards to Pichhpara, covering a stretch of roughly 400 kilometres. The corridor is expected to link several key industrial and tourist hubs, providing a faster and safer alternative to the existing road network.
The project is estimated to cost about ₹11,492 crore and will be executed under the purview of NHAI. Funding will be sourced from a mix of central government allocations and potential public‑private partnerships.
Once completed, the expressway is projected to reduce logistics costs, enhance trade flows and support regional economic development by improving access to markets and employment opportunities across Rajasthan.
