In Dhola Pur, Rajasthan, a court convicted brothers Lal Singh Gurjar and Pappu Gurjar of murder, sentencing them to life imprisonment and a fine of ₹5,000 each for a crime committed 17 years ago.

Dhola Pur, Rajasthan – In a verdict delivered today, the district court convicted Lal Singh Gurjar and Pappu Gurjar, the brothers of former bandit Jagannath Gurjar, for the murder that took place 17 years ago. The judges handed down life imprisonment to both men and imposed a fine of ₹5,000 each.

The brothers were charged with the unlawful killing of the victim, whose identity was not disclosed in the court documents. The prosecution presented evidence linking the brothers to the crime scene, including forensic findings and eyewitness testimony.

Jagannath Gurjar, who had been a notorious dacoit in the region, had been arrested years earlier. The murder case, which had remained unsolved for nearly two decades, was reopened after new evidence surfaced during a routine review of cold cases.

The presiding judge noted that the severity of the sentence reflected the gravity of the offence and the need to uphold public safety. Both defendants are expected to appeal the decision in the higher court.
