Punjab police have arrested individuals identified as key suppliers of 'chitta', a banned substance, in a crackdown on local trafficking networks.
Punjab police have launched a significant crackdown on the supply chain of 'chitta', a banned substance, resulting in the arrest of several key suppliers. The operation targets the root sources of the trade rather than just end-users, aiming to disrupt the network operating within the state.
The arrests were made following intelligence inputs that pointed to specific individuals responsible for procuring and distributing the material. Police officials stated that the seized items and the detained suspects will be examined to trace the broader network involved in this illicit activity.
This move is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies in Punjab to curb the consumption and distribution of such substances. Authorities have emphasized that strict legal action will be taken against all those found involved in the supply chain.
