Police in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, seized 88 cannabis plants worth approximately 10 lakh rupees hidden among cotton crops and arrested the field owner.

Police officers from the Balkwada station in Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, have seized a significant quantity of illegal cannabis plants that were being cultivated in a cotton field. The operation resulted in the confiscation of 88 green plants, which were hidden among the legitimate cotton crops to evade detection.

According to police officials, the total weight of the seized material is 102 kilograms and 250 grams. The estimated market value of the contraband has been placed at approximately 10 lakh rupees. The discovery highlights the growing trend of using agricultural fields to mask illegal drug cultivation.

Following the seizure, the police registered a case against the owner of the field. The individual has been taken into custody for further investigation. Authorities are now examining the extent of the illegal activity and checking for any other connections related to the supply chain.
