Hazaribag police confiscated 768 liquor bottles and detained two suspects in a crackdown on illegal alcohol distribution.
Police in Hazaribag seized a total of 768 liquor bottles during a raid conducted by the local law‑enforcement unit. The confiscated stock was found in a storage facility that was suspected of being used for illegal alcohol production and distribution.
During the operation, officers detained two individuals who were allegedly involved in the illicit trade. The suspects were taken into custody and are now facing charges under the state liquor laws.
The raid is part of a broader initiative by the state government to curb the sale of unlicensed liquor, which has been linked to a rise in alcohol‑related incidents in the region.
Authorities have not released further details about the identities of the arrested men or the fate of the seized bottles, but they confirmed that the liquor will be destroyed to prevent it from reaching consumers.
