The Karnataka government has raised the Dearness Allowance for its state employees from 15.75% to 18%, effective from the upcoming pay cycle.
The Karnataka state government announced today that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for all state employees will be increased from 15.75% to 18%. The move is aimed at easing the impact of rising living costs on public servants.
The decision follows a review of inflation trends and the cost of living index, which have shown a steady rise over the past year. By boosting the DA, the government intends to provide a more substantial wage adjustment that reflects current economic conditions.
Under the new rate, a government employee earning a basic salary of ₹50,000 will see an additional ₹900 per month in DA, bringing the total increase to ₹1,500. The change is expected to improve morale and financial stability among the workforce.
The revised allowance will take effect from the next salary disbursement cycle, scheduled for the end of the month. All state departments have been instructed to update their payroll systems accordingly.
