The Jammu‑Srinagar highway will allow two‑way traffic today, according to Kashmir Life.
The Jammu‑Srinagar National Highway, a vital artery linking the summer capital Srinagar with the winter capital Jammu, is set to operate with traffic moving in both directions today.
The change comes after a temporary one‑way restriction that had been imposed earlier due to security and weather concerns, as reported by the local daily Kashmir Life. Authorities have cleared the route after a fresh assessment of road and security conditions.
Officials have urged commuters to drive cautiously, obey speed limits and be prepared for possible delays at security checkpoints. The two‑way reopening is intended to smooth the flow of passengers and freight across the valley.
The decision is expected to benefit residents, tourists and transport operators, especially as the region heads into the peak travel season.
