A case has been registered against a father and son in Jalandhar for defrauding a victim of ₹11 lakh by promising to arrange their move to Canada.

Police in Jalandhar have registered a case against a father and son duo for allegedly cheating a resident out of ₹11 lakh. The accused are accused of luring the victim with false promises of arranging their emigration to Canada.

According to the police report, the duo assured the victim that they could secure the necessary visas and travel arrangements for a fee. However, after collecting the substantial sum of money, the accused failed to deliver on their commitments, leading to the victim filing a complaint.

The incident has brought attention to the growing trend of fraudulent immigration agents operating in the region. Authorities have initiated an investigation to trace the accused and recover the defrauded amount.

Police officials stated that the case is being handled under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code pertaining to cheating and criminal misappropriation of property.
