The historic Mahalaxmi Temple in Rajwada, Indore, is hosting a five-day Diwali festival, drawing large crowds of devotees to the 193-year-old shrine established by Holkar rulers.

A massive turnout of devotees has been witnessed at the historic Mahalaxmi Temple in Rajwada, Indore, as the shrine observes a special five-day festival in honor of Diwali. The temple, which has served as a major center of faith for 193 years, is currently hosting elaborate rituals to mark the occasion.

Established in 1832 by Malhar Rao Holkar II, the temple holds significant historical and religious importance in the city. It is a site where the Holkar rulers traditionally sought blessings for peace and prosperity, a tradition that continues to draw visitors from across the region.

During the festival, the deity is adorned with three special types of shrugars (decorations), and 56 bhog (offerings) are presented to the goddess. The combination of historical significance and spiritual fervor has turned the Rajwada complex into a hub of religious activity this week.

The five-day celebration highlights the deep-rooted cultural heritage of Indore, with locals and tourists alike participating in the darshan to seek the blessings of Goddess Mahalaxmi before the main Diwali festivities conclude.
