The India Meteorological Department has issued a rain forecast covering Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, signalling wet conditions across the three regions in the coming days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released its latest weather outlook, indicating that rainfall is likely to affect Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand over the next few days. Meteorologists attribute the expected showers to an active monsoon trough moving eastward across northern India.

In the capital, the forecast calls for intermittent showers that could bring relief from the recent heat wave, while also raising the risk of localized flooding in low‑lying areas. Himachal Pradesh’s hilly terrain is expected to see moderate to heavy rain, especially in the western districts, which may impact travel on mountain roads.

Uttarakhand, situated along the same weather corridor, is also slated for significant precipitation, with higher elevations likely to receive the heaviest amounts. Authorities have been advised to monitor river levels and issue timely advisories to residents in flood‑prone zones.

The IMD has urged the public in the three regions to stay updated with local bulletins, avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours, and take precautionary measures to protect property and health.
