The Golden Temple in Amritsar was illuminated with diyas and decorations as a large number of devotees gathered to celebrate Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali.
Amritsar witnessed a spectacular display of devotion and light as the Golden Temple was adorned with diyas and decorations to mark the dual celebration of Bandi Chhor Divas and Diwali. A large number of devotees, or Sangat, gathered at the holy site to partake in the festivities and seek blessings.
The occasion holds deep historical significance for the Sikh community. According to devotee Pradeep Kaur, the celebration commemorates the arrival of the sixth Sikh Guru, Guru Har Gobind Sahib, in Amritsar. He had successfully secured the release of 52 kings from Gwalior Fort before returning to the city.
In honor of this historic victory and the festival of lights, the Sangat decorated the temple premises with strings of diyas. The atmosphere was filled with joy and spiritual fervor as the community came together to remember the Guru's legacy and celebrate the triumph of good over evil.
