The Goa government has decided to approach the Supreme Court to challenge a High Court order that has stalled the reservation process for Scheduled Tribe seats.

The Goa state government has announced its intention to move the Supreme Court of India to contest a recent order from the Goa High Court. The High Court's directive has effectively halted the ongoing process related to the reservation of seats for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates in the state.

This legal challenge marks a significant escalation in the dispute over ST seat reservations in Goa. By taking the matter to the apex court, the state administration aims to seek a higher judicial interpretation to resume the stalled reservation procedures.

The decision reflects the government's stance on ensuring the implementation of reservation policies for marginalized communities. Legal experts note that such appeals to the Supreme Court are common when state governments disagree with High Court rulings that impact major administrative or constitutional processes.

The Supreme Court will now have to examine the legal merits of the High Court's order and determine the appropriate course of action regarding the ST seat reservation process in Goa.
