Eight Workers Killed in Mixer Machine Accident in Rajasthan's Jodhpur District

A tragic incident unfolded on a road construction site in Chapoli village, Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, when a mixer machine malfunctioned and caught fire. Eight workers inside the machine lost their lives, leaving families and the local community in shock.
The accident occurred while the crew was operating the mixer as part of a routine road‑building activity. Investigators say a short circuit in the machine’s electrical system likely triggered the blaze, preventing the workers from escaping.
In the wake of the tragedy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a financial assistance package for the families of the deceased. The government will provide compensation to help cover funeral expenses and support the workers’ dependents.
Local authorities have pledged to review safety protocols for construction equipment to prevent similar incidents in the future.
