On Narak Chaturdashi, ceremonial lamps will be illuminated at Muktidham in Indore as part of the city’s Diwali festivities.
Indore will observe a special Diwali ritual on Saturday, Narak Chaturdashi, by lighting a series of lamps at the city’s Muktidham complex. The ceremony, organized by local municipal authorities, is intended to honor ancestors and mark the beginning of the festive season.
Officials have scheduled the lighting to begin in the early evening, allowing residents and visitors to gather safely while observing COVID‑19 guidelines. The event is expected to draw families from across the city who come to pay respects and partake in the traditional observance.
Muktidham, a prominent memorial site in Indore, often serves as a focal point for cultural and religious gatherings during major festivals. The lamp‑lighting will be accompanied by brief prayers and background music, creating a solemn yet celebratory atmosphere.
The municipal corporation has also announced that traffic will be redirected around the Rajwada area for two days, ensuring smooth movement for participants heading to Muktidham. No other major public events are scheduled for the same day, keeping the focus on the Diwali ritual.
