Vehicles came to a complete standstill on Delhi's roads on the eve of Dhanteras due to the massive surge in festive shopping traffic.
Delhi's major thoroughfares witnessed a significant slowdown in traffic on the eve of Dhanteras, with vehicles coming to a complete halt in several key areas. The congestion was primarily driven by the intense rush of shoppers heading to markets and shopping complexes to purchase gold, silver, and other festive essentials.
As the traditional festival of Dhanteras approaches, the city saw a sharp increase in vehicular movement, leading to gridlock on major arterial roads. The situation highlighted the annual challenge of managing traffic during peak festive periods in the national capital.
While no specific accidents or casualties were reported in the immediate lead, the standstill of vehicles underscores the logistical strain on Delhi's infrastructure during major cultural events. Traffic authorities are expected to monitor the situation closely to ensure safety and manage the flow of vehicles.
