Meteorological authorities warn Delhi residents of possible hailstorms and strong winds on Friday, urging caution and preparedness.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for Delhi, predicting hailstorms and strong winds on Friday. The alert advises residents to secure loose objects and avoid outdoor activities during peak hours. Authorities have also notified local transport authorities to monitor road conditions and adjust traffic signals if necessary. Meteorologists expect the weather pattern to subside by Saturday evening.
The alert is part of the department’s routine monitoring of Delhi’s weather, which can change rapidly due to the city’s urban heat island effect. Residents are encouraged to stay updated via official IMD channels and local news outlets.
Emergency services are on standby to respond to any incidents caused by the severe weather, and hospitals have been advised to prepare for potential injuries related to hail and high winds.
