The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced that it will provide free land and ponds to devotees for the celebration of Chhath Puja in the capital.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken a significant step to facilitate religious observances in the national capital by announcing the provision of free land and ponds for Chhath Puja. This initiative aims to ensure that devotees have adequate and accessible spaces to perform their rituals during the festival season.
The Chhath Puja festival holds immense cultural and religious significance in Delhi, particularly among communities from Bihar and Jharkhand. By offering these resources, the DDA seeks to support the traditional practices of offering prayers to the Sun God, which require specific water bodies and open grounds.
This move is expected to streamline the festival preparations, reducing the logistical challenges faced by devotees in finding suitable locations for their worship. The authority has emphasized that these facilities will be made available to ensure a peaceful and organized celebration of the festival across the city.
While specific locations and application procedures may be detailed in subsequent announcements, the core commitment remains to provide essential infrastructure for this major religious event in Delhi.
