Authorities received a credible threat to detonate a bomb at the Ludhiana district court complex, with additional warnings about schools and public figures.
Police in Punjab said a bomb threat targeting the Ludhiana district court complex was received early this week. The warning, circulated on social media, alleged that an explosive device could be placed inside the court premises and urged authorities to act swiftly.
The same message also mentioned potential attacks on nearby schools and named Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi as additional targets. While the broader threat raised concerns, officials said the immediate focus remains on securing the court building.
Law enforcement agencies have deployed additional personnel, set up metal detectors, and cordoned off the area surrounding the court. A special investigation team is tracing the source of the message, and no arrests have been made so far.
The Punjab police have appealed for public calm and urged anyone with further information to come forward, assuring that all necessary measures are being taken to prevent any untoward incident.
