The Bihar government has issued an order prohibiting teachers and students from creating short video reels and disallowing non‑staff visitors while classes are in session.

The education department of Bihar released a circular that explicitly forbids teachers and students from filming or posting short video reels on social media platforms within school premises. The directive applies to all public and private schools across the state and comes into effect immediately.

In addition to the ban on reels, the order bars any outsider—parents, NGOs, media personnel or other non‑staff—from entering school buildings during teaching hours unless they have obtained prior written permission from the school authority. Schools are instructed to display the notice prominently at entrances and classrooms.

Officials said the measure is intended to curb distractions, protect the privacy of minors and prevent the spread of unauthorized content that could compromise school discipline. They have asked school heads to monitor compliance and report any violations to the district education officers.

The department has not disclosed specific penalties for breaches, but indicated that repeated non‑compliance could attract disciplinary action against the responsible staff members.
