Indian Railways has introduced 24 special trains from the Bhopal division for the Diwali and Chhath festivals, with heightened security at Bhopal, Rani Kamalapati, Bina, Guna and Itarsi stations and ATM ticketing facilities.

Indian Railways has scheduled a fleet of twenty‑four special trains to operate from the Bhopal railway division throughout November, aiming to accommodate the surge in passenger traffic during the Diwali and Chhath celebrations. The services are part of a broader festive‑season plan to ensure smooth travel for pilgrims and holiday‑makers across the region.

Security personnel have been deployed in larger numbers at five major stations – Bhopal, Rani Kamalapati, Bina, Guna and Itarsi – to manage crowds, conduct baggage checks and respond swiftly to any untoward incidents. The reinforced presence is intended to provide a safe environment for the estimated thousands of travelers expected on these routes.

To further ease ticketing, the railways have kept ATM‑based ticket vending machines operational at the same stations, allowing passengers to purchase tickets without queuing at traditional counters. Officials anticipate that the combined measures will reduce congestion, improve punctuality and enhance overall passenger experience during the festive period.

The special trains will run on a fixed schedule, with additional coaches added where demand is high. Railway authorities have urged commuters to book tickets in advance and adhere to safety guidelines at stations and aboard the trains.
